OK FARM BUREAU PRESIDENT TOURS
EASTERN OKLAHOMA PROMOTING WATER SALE
Visits Mayes and Latimer County
On a recent visit to Mayes County, Farm Bureau President and OWRB member Tom Buchanan continued to outline his vision for transferring and selling Eastern Oklahoma’s stressed water resources. He argues that there is an excess amount of water in Eastern Oklahoma, and that there is enough to fulfill the needs of Western Oklahoma and our neighboring states.
According to Mr. Buchanan’s plan, 1.5% of water sale revenues would be returned to the areas from which the water originated. Click here to read the full article.

In that interview, Mr. Buchanan claimed that his plan to transfer water across the state and uphill was based on science. The interview was also published in Clayton Today and the Talihina American on Febrary 6th, 2014. Available upon request.
