Releases from Overholser Dam on August 9, 2013

While the Oklahoma City Water Utilities Trust continues its attempt to take water from Southeast Oklahoma, vast quantities of water are released from Overholser Dam.

Lake Overholser is a “backup reservoir”  for Oklahoma City, and is to be tapped during the summer to meet increased seasonal demand.

In addition, Oklahoma City has received from 39 inches of rainfall to, in some areas,  almost 42 inches of rainfall in 2013.
